Sugarless Apple Dessert

  • Yield: 5 servings

Ingredients:

3 envelopes unflavored gelatin

1 (12-ounce) can unsweetened frozen apple juice concentrate, diluted with 1 can water

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

5 cups peeled, sliced apple

1 tablespoon reduced-calorie margarine

Procedure:

  1. Combine gelatin, apple concentrate, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg in a large skillet, stirring well. Let it stand for 1 minute.
  2. Cook over low heat for 1 minute or until gelatin dissolves.
  3. Add apple. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 to 25 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.
  4. Add margarine, stirring gently until margarine melts. Remove from heat, cover and let it chill.
  5. To serve, spoon mixture evenly into individual dessert dishes.
