On Diet? Read this Fast-Food Tips

Most of us don’t know that eating just three meals per week at a fast food restaurant was associated with increase in body weight. Read these tips that will surely help with your diet.

  • Know what you are going to order in advance. Almost every fast-food restaurant has their nutrition information on the Web or at the restaurant. Find out what’s available ahead of time. Plan what you can have in five or six fast-food places and you will never be forced to decide on the spot and overindulge. By doing that you’ll be making your choices second nature.
  • Drink to your health. Drink plenty of water, orange juice, or skim milk instead of soda. This will boost the vitamin and mineral content of your meal.
  • Toss the sauce. Eliminate condiments, relishes, toppings, special sauces, dressings, and garnishes because they are high in fat, sodium, and calories.
  • Sub that Grub. Substitute mustard for mayonnaise.
  • Beware of portion distortion. Practice portion control and resist the urge to super size.
  • Get fruity. Carry a couple of pieces of fresh fruits, or take a long carrot sticks or celery and enjoy them with your meal instead of fries. You’ll be getting the crunch without the fat and calories.
  • Way to go, Tomato. Instead of sauce, give your sandwich a healthy, juicy taste by adding tomatoes (which are fat free and packed with immune-building vitamin C).
  • Blot a lot. Cut down on the fat by blotting your French fries, pizza slice, or hamburger meat with a napkin before you eat them. Blotting your pizza can save as much as many as eight fat calories.
  • Don’t be cheesy. Instead of cheese, prefer lettuce, tomato, and onion; taking off one slice of cheese will subtract about one hundred calories.
  • Veg out. Top your pizza with vegetables instead of meat and cheese.
  • Toss out your hunger. Order a tossed salad and enjoy it before the main meal to curb your appetite.
  • Go the extra mile. Ask for extra veggies with your stuffed pita sandwiches.
  • Dare to share. Share a sandwich with a friend (but make sure the sandwich is a healthy one).
