Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Yield: 2 dozen (73 calories and 28% fat each)

Ingredients:

3 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar

3 tablespoons light-colored corn syrup

1 1/2 tablespoons margarine

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 egg whites

2 tablespoons water

2/3 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup instant non-fat dry milk powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup quick-cooking oats, uncooked

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate mini-morsels

Vegetable cooking spray

Procedure:

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium bowl, beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg whites and water; beat well.
  2. Combine flour, dry milk powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl, stirring well.
  3. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir oats and chocolate mini-morsels.
  4. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto cookie sheets coated with cooking spray.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove from cookie sheets, and cool completely on wire racks.
